WE ARE CURRENTLY LOCATED IN SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA, BUT WILL BE RELOCATING TO MORENO VALLEY, CA BEGINNING 2019. TRAINING WILL BE HELD AT OUR  SANTA FE SPRINGS LOCATION. RELOCATION/COMMUTE PACKAGES WILL BE DISCUSSED DURING INTERVIEW PROCESS.

 

Solaris is a tissue converting company with affiliated plants and warehouses across the US. The Production Department is looking for various levels of Machine Operators. Will train right candidate with no experience at entry level. Tissue converting and/or manufacturing experience for Intermediate and advance levels is preferred. The Machine Operator positions report to the Team Leads and receive work direction from the Machine Leads.

The purpose of the position is to ensure that production procedures are carried on smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits. The Machine Operator’s function is to set up, maintain and operate machinery. The person should be reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. Willingness to learn and improve is a must as on-the-job training is the best way to discover how to do the job better. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
  • Comply with facility safety and attendance rules
  • Operate asset equipment safely to support and achieve customer satisfaction
  • Responsible for on-shift quality checks
  • Identify and correct issues with equipment and process operation
  • Perform grade change activities
  • Report sub-standard issues to the Machine Leader
  • Provide Operator coverage of vacancy, and breaks & lunches
  • Participate in other assigned duties to support achieving a World Class Manufacturing facility
  • Internal:

    Team Leads and Machine Leads, Maintenance & Quality Technicians and Material Handlers.


Job Requirements

Education and Experience Background

  • High School Diploma/equivalent
  • Proficiency in reading/writing English and good communication skills
  • Ability to operate and understand basic principles of machinery
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work  and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Basic computer skills preferred

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Must be flexible and responsive to the needs of the department/ business
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts and rotating schedules
  • Must be able to sit, bend, stand and walk during scheduled shift
  • Must be able to stand 90% of the time
