Product Development Manager is to lead Product Development, the important device in the mechanism of concept-to-commercial process by two methods:

  • New product development by utilizing a company’s strengths and changes in the marketing environment to provide a competitive advantage.
  • Rejuvenate existing brand or products by product modification or reformulation (e.g. new base paper, size, or scent), new pricing, new product technical template, new packaging, or new branding image.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead employees to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
  • Develop team members’ technical and professional skill-set through training of new products specifications including overseas and third parties development.
  • Reviews profitability from a company-wide scale: overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities.
  • Manage clear communication to business leaderships of overall project scope, including: status updates, requirements, or roadblocks, etc.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to ensure that products meet financial targets and utilize machine efficiency.
  • Proactively resolve issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic, financial, or other outlined goals.
  • Reviews and identify ways to improve production capabilities, such as: rationalize, standardize and consolidate in-life product throughout.
  • Coordinate with suppliers/vendors on product technical drawing specifications.
  • Monitor internally to conceivably improve development processes.
  • Identify innovative opportunities with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Improve inner and outer packaging materials for cost reductions.
  • Join forces on quality activities including risk assessments, and root cause analysis.
  • Supervise plant trials and start-up productions.
  • Create/Modify/Review Packaging technical die-line spec templates for all product packaging types, according to each machine specifications by using Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop
  • Set up & maintain SKUs in SAP (Solaris, Mercury, ATI, OEMs, and oversea suppliers).
  • Drive strategy and development for new and improved products, from concept to commercialization.
  • Manage and perform job functions of Product Development Specialist and Product Packaging Specialist as needed.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities desired:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferred in product packaging, computer graphic design
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience on retail product, packaging and commercialization development
  • Or any equivalent combination of above education and experience, which would provide knowledge, skills, and abilities of manufacturing environment
  • Profession in Intermediate level Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and TOPS
  • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of reading, legible writing, and mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently, both orally and written.
  • Knowledge of inventory controls methods and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with superiors, fellow employees, vendors and the general public
